Dudley Wood Athletic 3 Clee Hill Reserves 2
CLEE Hill missed out on a chance to move up to a Kidderminster League Division 1 mid-table position when they lost out by the odd goal in a match between two teams struggling for confidence.
Both teams struggled to come to terms with a bumpy pitch and found it difficult to sustain passing movements.
Dudley took the lead when Clee failed to clear their lines and the visiting striker nipped in to score from close range.
The Hill came back and Wayne Griffiths and Ross Taylor made the most of a couple of chances to hit the target and edge the visitors in front. However Dudley got back on terms with a fluke goal when defender David Whiteman stretched to clear the ball but saw it loop off his foot and swirl over goalkeeper Paul Jones for the equaliser.
Despite a lot of late pressure from Clee Hill it was Dudley who claimed the three points when they took advantage of more hesitant defending to break away and notch the winning goal.
