AN appeal has gone out for new faces to join the Clun Carnival Committee with new ideas for next year's show.
The event, which pulls in crowds from all over Shropshire and mid-Wales, has already been pencilled in for August 7, 2004. Carnival chairman Richard Bright hopes it will be "even bigger and better" than this year.
Despite a blazing hot day, the 2003 Carnival attracted only 50 fewer people than the previous year's record attendance.
The closure of Clun's medieval bridge, after a lorry went into it, did not cause as much disruption as feared.
Although the event made a loss, there were distributions of £30 each to two good causes, Clun Senior Citizens and Mothers & Toddlers.
A series of monthly committee meetings to organise next year's Carnival begins on January 12 at Hilltop in Newport Street.
Anyone who wants to help or has ideas to build on last year's festivities should contact Richard Bright on either 01588 640541 or 01588 660250.
