Clee Hill 4 Church Stretton 4 (aet) (Church Stretton go through 4-2 on penalties)
STRETTON booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Shropshire Senior Challenge Cup after a superbly exciting second round tie at Clee Hill which was only resolved after a penalty shoot-out.
Although Stretton made all the early running they found themselves a goal down after 19 minutes when slack marking at the back failed to clear a cross into the box and the Hill forced the ball home.
They were back on terms 10 minutes later when a cross cum shot free kick from Dean Richards deceived the home goalkeeper to find the net.
Boosted by this success they took an interval lead when Dan Woosnam forced the ball in from close quarters after a right-wing corner from Matt Tudor led to a melee in the six-yard box.
Within minutes of the restart Hill were back on terms, but not for long as substitute Dave Humphries netted with a diving header from a Tudor corner.
Both sides played their part in this cup tie and Hill nicked a late equaliser to force extra-time.
Hesitation at the back by Stretton saw the Hill take a second minute lead, but the visitors battled back to claim a penalty shoot-out when Tudor cut in from the right to drive home the equaliser.
In a tense shoot-out Stretton held their nerve to win the shoot-out 4-2 and book a quarter-final place.
