COFFEE mornings all over South Shropshire have raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Dozens of groups joined in the 12-year-old World's Biggest Coffee Morning, which last year raised £3.2 million for the charity.
Chris Bland's Acorn Whole-food Restaurant in Church Stretton raised more than £350.
"This is the most we've ever raised," said Chris. "It makes it all worthwhile."
Ludlow Macmillan Cancer Relief branch chairman Jim Turner said:"I'm delighted with the response by local groups, who were among 30,000 groups in the country who have been joining in this event."
"We don't know how much we have raised locally because this all goes in to the coffers of the national campaign. But other events we run throughout the year in the Ludlow area in the year 2002 raised £7,500 and I hope we will do even better in the current year".
Anyone who would like to help with the fundraising events organised by the Ludlow branch should call Mr Turner on 01568 750405.
