Stoke Prior 1 Orleton 2
ORLETON took their unbeaten run to four games by beating Stoke Prior in the League Cup.
Stoke started well and went into the lead just inside 20 minutes, Orleton then equalised five minutes later. When a low cross from John Perrott was picked up by Rob Gissop, who lost his marker and equalised.
In the second half Ben Apperley converted a penalty on the half hour mark. Then Orleton defended strongly for the last 15 minutes to progress into the second round.
Pencombe 3 Woofferton Reserves 0
WOOFFERTON bowed out of the Leominster Junior Cup at the first hurdle after they gave a strong Pencombe team a good run for their money in the first half but ran out of steam after the break.
The visitors started well with Kyle Roberts firing just over the bar and John Haycox heading wide at the far post.
Pencombe gradually took over but the plucky Woofferton defence held them out until the interval.
Five minutes after the restart Pencombe's speedy winger raced clear to open the scoring and from then on there was only one team in it.
Woofferton conceded a penalty to gift Pencombe a second goal and a cracking 25 yard drive booked their place in the second round.
