HARD on the heels of what he calls his best exhibition yet, Clun art gallery proprietor Tim Wood unveils his autumn show today, featuring nine artists from the Marches.
Some of his artists recently appeared at Tim's Old Surgery gallery. One newcomer is a former geography teacher Bob Wallis, who moved to Ludlow two years ago.
"Already the Marches landscape has begun to influence his paintings," said Tim. "He finds the area stimulating to paint and a beautiful subject matter in its many moods."
John Brookes has exhibited at the gallery as a sculptor but now he is showing pictures for the first time there. A self-taught artist, John's work features the human figure and the Shropshire landscape.
Painter and printmaker Gordon Yapp will display a recently completed woodcut Clun Bridge Arches, which will only be available at the gallery.
Also taking part in the autumn show is Jacqueline Fletcher, who creates imaginative landscapes and interiors in pen and ink and watercolour.
The autumn exhibition is open daily until October 20, by when Tim will be preparing for a special Halloween show. He is also planning a series of mulled wine and mince pie evenings to welcome the onset of winter.
