Tenbury Ladies completed their third win of the season beating Kington Ladies 5-0 at Bridge Street on Sunday.
This was another strong and very efficient performance and probably their best of the season so far. The team included two players making their debut, both of whom had fine games; young Abi Thomas showing great potential for the future.
The match was played at a fast pace and the resulting flowing play by Tenbury, led to many opportunities for goals.
However, the outstanding visiting goalkeeper pulled off a string of excellent saves to keep her team in the game.
Superb angled shot
But the accurate passing by Tenbury led to some brilliant goals from open play. Rachel Croxton produced a superb angled shot following a devastating run which cut through the opposition defence.
There was a growing sense of confidence as the game progressed and the forwards fed each other with fast accurate passes which led to goals by Becky Toone, now the leading goalscorer, and Amy Ewuen. Nikki Edwards and Emma Hillhouse scored two further goals from short corners, both of which resulted from clever switching direction of attack.
The strong and experienced Tenbury defence ensured that their opponents were denied opportunities on goal.
