Clee Hill United Reserves 4 Rising Sun 2
CLEE Hill United Reserves started their Kidderminster League campaign at the weekend with an away fixture against Rising Sun of Stourport.
The Hill settled well and should have gone ahead when Breakwell was put through in a one-on-one situation with the goalie. But he struck his shot straight at him.
The Hill took the lead on 20 minutes when Breakwell scored from a more difficult chance than the earlier one.
From the kick-off, Rising Sun went straight to the other end and were unlucky when a shot struck the post and went out for a goal-kick.
Five minutes before the break they equalised when a cross form the left found a midfield player on an overlap in acres of space, and drilled the ball in at the near post.
Unfortunate
Under pressure, the half-time whistle came just at the right time for the Hill. Ross Walker, unfortunately, picked up an injury and was unable to take the field for the second half. Breakwell put the hill back in front, and Warrington increased the lead to 3-1 when scoring from a corner. Breakwell got his hat-trick and Rising Sun scored a late goal to leave the final score 4-2 to the Hill. Young Steven Jones had a good game on the left wing showing a lot of promise for a 16-year-old.
This week, the Hill entertains Bewdley Rovers at home.
