I WAS greatly amused by the recent attempted personal attack on me by Councillor McCormack following my letter opposing the proposed Eco-business Park.
It would appear that she is blind to the level of opposition to this development by Ludford and Sheet electors and people throughout Ludlow.
If recent press reports are to be believed, letters against the Eco-business Park outnumbered those in favour by 58 to 1! If that were not sign enough of the level of opposition, a petition against the Eco-business Park had almost double the number of names on it than a similar one supporting it.
It is not that people are opposed to development in Ludlow full stop, Ludlow will need to grow over time. Among other things, it's the pace of growth and the positioning of this 'Eco-business Park' that people are opposed to. This would surely prove to be the thick end of a sprawling development wedge.
People's quality of life in the area of the development is sure to suffer, people living in the ward are concerned by the increase in traffic, pollution and the effects on house prices that this development will bring. You won't have to worry about this aspect too much though Mrs McCormack, because you don't live in the ward!
It is about time you represented the views of your electors!
