Councillor Bews of Boraston writes (Letters, July 24th) that in South Shropshire "we have low wages, higher housing costs measured against income and a high level of second home ownership."
He also says "we have to ensure that we have a balanced economy and make our area attractive to new investment."
He is absolutely right on both accounts. Where he is wrong, however, is that to be against the 'Eco-business Park is to be against a healthy, wealthy Ludlow. I am certain that all those who oppose the building of industrial units on the far side of the by-pass love Ludlow and want to see Ludlow prosper but not at the cost of concreting over green fields. There are other options.
We need to be attractive to new investment AND attractive to the eye.
