ELEVEN suggestions have been put forward for a name for the main road that will pass through Ludlow's new Eco Park.
Three have come from Stoford Developments, the rather obvious Eco Drive and two nods towards classical mythology - Gaia Road, named after the Greek Earth goddess, and Ceres Drive, the Roman goddess of farming.
South Shropshire District Council has decided it is a road with a view and has suggested eight alternatives based on landmarks or places that can be seen from the road, including Titter-stone View to Quarry View, Dhu-stone View, and Brown Clee View.
The Royal Mail is happy about all 11 possibilities. The district council's development control committee was deciding as the Advertiser went to press.
At the same time, the development control committee was considering a recommendation by its planning officers to refuse permission for Sherpa Properties to build seven commercial or office buildings at the Eco Park.
The officers' report said their design, materials and layout "would detract from the high visual amenity and appearance that is being sought for this development juxtaposed to the open countryside of this area".
