WHIST DRIVE: The whist drive arranged for Monday, September 4, is a no trumps drive. Starting at 8pm, admission is still £1 including refreshments. There will be a raffle.
CLOVER CLUB: Thirty-eight members of the Clover Club have enjoyed a visit to Stockton Bury Gardens at Kimbolton, Leominster. Owned by Mr Raymond Treasure, the gardens and buildings date back to 1662. Surviving from this time is a large fish pool, a tithe barn, and a pigeon house, still with its revolving ladder. There are orchards and a kitchen garden and everywhere lots of unusual shrubs. There is an excellent tea room, where we all gathered for home-made cakes and refreshing drinks.
On Thursday, September 7, the club is going out to lunch at the Lion Hotel, Leintwardine, at 12.30 for 1pm.
