LUDLOW Town’s new first-team boss Mike Seaborne believes the Hodge brothers will make their mark at the SBS Stadium.

Seaborne says Nathan, Aaron and Dale Hodge are planning to join the Shropshire outfit for the new campaign.

Nathan Hodge bagged around 20 goals for Town last term before linking up with Seaborne at Leintwardine Colts.

Now that Seaborne has taken over the Ludlow hot-seat, the Craven Arms-based brothers are expected to follow suit.

Seaborne will be assisted by Dean Oliver, who lives in Leintwardine, and is also looking forward to the Sportsjamkits.com Shropshire County Premier League challenge.

“Nathan, Dale and Aaron Hodge have said they will come and play for me this season,” said Seaborne, who lives in Craven Arms.

“Nathan scored 20 goals for Ludlow Town before he left in December to join the team at Leintwardine.

“He went on to score 32 goals for Leintwardine but he wasn’t the top scorer - his brother Aaron actually scored more goals.

“Aaron can also play in defence and, at the moment, I am pleased with everything that is coming together.”

Town will be playing in the Shropshire County League having withdrawn from the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Ludlow-born Seaborne enjoyed a successful two-season spell at the helm of Leintwardine Colts in the Hereford Times Herefordshire League.

Seaborne guided Leintwardine to the Division 2 title, the HFA Burghill Cup and the Leintwardine Cup in his first season in charge.

Last term, he led Leintwardine to the Division 1 title, the HFL Jock Handley Cup and the Leintwardine Cup.

“Unfortunately, Leintwardine didn’t have the criteria to go up to the Premier Division and I was asked to take over at Ludlow,” said Seaborne.

“Some of the other lads from Leintwardine will be coming down to Ludlow and we are trying to get more Ludlow lads involved.

“We’re looking forward to starting pre-season and playing the friendlies.

“After about eight to 10 games, we will get a better reflection of how things will pan out but I am very pleased.”

Town will be staging an open training session for all players from the area at the SBS Stadium on Saturday, July 3 at 3pm.

They have arranged home pre-season friendlies against Market Drayton Town on Saturday, July 17 at 3pm and Westfields on Thursday, July 22 at 7.30pm.

Town have also pencilled in a warm-up match at home to Kington Town on Saturday, August 7.

Ludlow’s league campaign kicks off on Saturday, August 14.

“It’s a very competitive league and it’s going to be tough,” said Seaborne.

“There are the likes of Ellesmere Rangers Reserves and a couple of sides from Telford.

“It’s a good standard of football with teams from the Shropshire Premier League going into Division 2 of the West Midlands League.

“We want players to come along to Ludlow, enjoy playing their football and that, in turn, will bring success for the club.”

l Ludlow Town’s Colts side will, once again, be playing in the competitive Shropshire Alliance League in the new season.
