LUDLOW Town boss Mike Seaborne is calling for his sharp-shooters to deliver when the new season gets underway this weekend.
Town have been playing attacking football and bagged a host of goals in an impressive pre-season programme.
Ludlow thrashed Hereford Lads Club 9-2, Wroxeter Rovers, 11-0 and overcame Church Street 4-2.
But Seaborne knows the real test will come on Saturday when Town host Dawley Villa in their Shropshire County League Premier Division curtain-raiser.
“I am very pleased with the way pre-season has gone - we have scored a lot of goals and played very well in a 6-3 defeat to Market Drayton,” said the ex-Leintwardine boss.
“We appealed for local players to come and play for us and the response has been very good.
“We have had 20 players training for the first team with Jamie Marsh coming back from Leominster.”
Seaborne took over the Town hot-seat in the summer following the club’s withdrawal from the West Midlands League Premier Division.
The new boss has been impressed with the performances of Danny Gower, Nathan Hodge and his brother Aaron.
Nathan Hodge scored 20 goals for Town last season before he left in December to join Leintwardine.
He bagged 32 goals for Leintwardine and will be a key player in Town’s bid for success.
“Nathan should be playing higher but he wants to play football with his mates,” said Seaborne.
