A COMEDIAN and a wine expert tucked into some tasty squirrel when they popped into a Leintwardine pub.
Hugh Dennis, who currently stars in the BBC comedy Outnumbered and is a regular panellist on Mock the Week, joined wine expert Oz Clarke on a visit to the Sun Inn as part of their whistle-stop tour of the UK to try and find the best independent drinks.
They are featuring the pubs in their BBC series Oz and Hugh Raise the Bar, which will culminate in them opening two bars in a head-to-head challenge.
The pair were guests at a “Mayor’s Squirrel Supper”, where they had a squirrel casserole prepared by village butcher and Alderman Doug Griffiths.
Aldermen are former mayors of the town and a group of them joined in with the supper, along with current mayor Mike Rix.
To see what drinks they sampled in Leintwardine, tune into BBC2 on Tuesday (January 2) at 8pm.
