Goodrich 4 Ludlow Town 1

LUDLOW will have to get on the front foot and show more commitment if they want to compete with the top sides in the West Midlands Premier Division, said manager Chris Richards.

With only one point from three games, Richards said: `'After an encouraging pre-season programme, we have been disappointing. We need to go out and get results on the park.''

His problems were compounded by an injury to centre-midfielder Dean Garden (ankle ligaments).

Joint leaders with Bewdley, Goodrich came out as if they meant business and were 1-0 up at half time on Saturday.

After the break, Ludlow fell two behind. They responded on 55 minutes when James Clarke turned sharply 18 yards out and hit the top corner of the net.

But in the fourth quarter Goodrich got two more.

On Saturday, Ludlow are away to league contenders Gornal, kick off 3pm.

LUDLOW were reduced to ten men, and then nine, after Sean Humphries and Mark Neville received second yellow cards last Wednesday (August 23).

Richards said: `'Up to 70 minutes, we were the ones pressing for a goal but were reduced to holding out for a point. It was not our day.''
