Impact United 0 Ludlow Town 4
LUDLOW completed their first season in the Shropshire County League Premier Division with two substantial wins, and ended up in third place in the table.
They completed their fixtures with a 4-0 win at Impact.
Dave Humphries gave them the lead when he unleashed a tremendous right-foot shot from a Danny Crowther cross on the half-hour mark.
The Impact defence made a mess of dealing with a throughball from Ali Carvell, allowing Aaron Hodge to double the tally from close-range five minutes into the second half.
Nathan Hodge, who was resting an ankle injury, came off the bench and scored twice, the one supplied by Ian Havard, and the other Danny Gower.
Town rounded off their home fixtures with an emphatic 7-0 midweek win over Broseley Juniors at the SBS Stadium.
Nathan Hodge opened the scoring in the 10th minute and went on to claim a hat-trick before half time. A further goal from Dale Hodge put the home side 4- 0 up at the break.
Ludlow kept the pressure on, with Nathan Hodge adding two more goals to make it five in the match. Danny Gower completed the list.
Manager Mike Seaborne reflected on a season of fluctuating fortunes.
"I would have accepted thirdplace before the season started, but looking back, considering the quantity of goals scored and some of the performances produced, we might have achieved more," he said.
Town took four points of f Haughmond, the likely champions, but at the other extreme supplied Dawley with their first win of the campaign recently.
This highlighted the inconsistency with one of the key problems, the inability to field a settled side.
