LONG-distance lawn mowers made pit stops in Ludlow and Tenbury as they travelled from one end of the country to another.
Support for the charity fund-raising initiative had come from a Tenbury communications business.
Tony Wight, from Wigan, and Daz Whitehead, from Stoke, drove pre- 1968 mini-garden tractor mowers from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for Help for Heroes and Cancer Research UK.
Both are members of the Northwest Lawn Mowers Association.
The team had planned to cover the route in five days, travelling 200 miles a day on their mini-mowers which had been adapted to make them road legal.
On the way they called in at Ludlow and stopped for lunch at Well Communications in Burford, before continuing the next part of their journey, which took them through Tenbury Wells, much to the surprise of the town’s shoppers.
Tony and Daz had full back up from Tenbury’s Mike Breakwell, owner of Well Communications in Burford.
The team used his phones and tracking devices to keep on the move.
