A LUDLOW woman has had an exhibition of her sand art staged in the town.
Abigail Humphries developed her technique of painting with sand six years ago.
“I have found this medium to be a very inspiring and creative process,” she said.
“Now I focus on painting ‘Sand People’ as this has become my art form and style. Working with the sand on canvas and building up the layers allows the image to quietly grow.
“It goes through a constant process of metamorphosis as the work is moulded and eventually dries. In different lighting situations or at different times of the day, you may find that the rough textures and unique sculptural effects can alter the way that we see the human figures.
“In doing so, the emotions that we once had about the painting can evolve into something quite different.”
Abigail’s work will be on display throughout the autumn at Fishmore Hall.
