Tesco will develop this eyesore site Norman Wanstall writing from his home in Burford (Advertiser letters, September 1), can have no influence concerning the decision to allow Tesco's to build a store on the former cattle market.
That is for the the people of the Tenbury division of Worcester.
It may have been different for Mr Wanstall if the people of Burford had voted to join Tenbury in 1998 when local government changes took place, but they voted to stay with Shropshire. The former cattle market is an eyesore which needs something done as soon as possible, Tesco's will do that at no cost to the taxpayer.
Taxpayers will also benefit from the very large sum they will be paying in business rates. Also unlike the Spar they will have a large car park. I hope that if the store is built Tesco agrees to have deliveries at other than the busiest time of the day.
