Ludlow Town 3 Whitchurch Alport Reserves 0 LUDLOW Town boss Mike Seaborne has warned his goal-happy side against complacency after a third straight win.
Town’s 3-0 victory over Whitchurch Alport Reserves last weekend means they have now found the net 11 times in the last three games while keeping consecutive clean sheets in the same period.
But Seaborne says it is vital they keep the run going against Ellesmere Rangers Reserves this Saturday in the Shropshire County Premier Division.
“We have got a bit of a run going but we have to make sure we keep it going,” he said. “We are at home on Saturday and we will look to win the game. Confidence should be high.”
The Whitchurch victory was perhaps not as dramatic as the previous week’s mauling of league leaders Newport but was well deserved.
Danny Gower opened the scoring with a crisp drive from the edge of the box on 20 minutes, with Town controlling the game after that.
The second half saw the return from injury of striker Nathan Hodge, pictured left, who didn’t have to wait long to get on the scoresheet as he turned in a free-kick to double the lead.
Moments later he almost grabbed a second when he flicked a corner onto the bar before the rebound was turned in by Dale Hodge to seal victory.
Ludlow tried to add to the lead but saw late efforts hit the woodwork.
“We did well and didn’t really look like we were troubled,” said Seaborne.
“The defence had a trouble-free afternoon and we could have scored more goals.”
The impressive run has seen Town move up to fourth in the table.
