Ludlow Town 2 FC Hodnet 0 LUDLOW progressed to the next stage of the Shropshire FA Challenge Cup on Saturday with victory over FC Hodnet.
Goals in each half from Nathan Hodge and Danny Gower booked Town a place in the competition’s second round.
Ludlow boss Mike Seaborne was pleased with the result but is confident Town can improve.
He said: “We really didn’t get into our stride and hit top form but to keep a clean sheet and score a goal in each half is pleasing.
It’s nice to get through and hopefully we can get a good draw in the next round.”
Hodge turned neatly to blast in the opener with around 25 minutes gone to allow Gower to double Town’s lead just minutes before the end.
Town resume their Shropshire County League Premier Division campaign on Saturday against sixth-placed Morda United.
