SOUTH Shropshire farmer Mick Evans bared his top lip for the first time in 40 years all in the cause of charity.
When his wife Eunice was diagnosed with breast cancer Mick, of Day House Farm, Stottesdon, was challenged to shave off the moustache that he had sported since leaving school in the early 1970s.
He agreed that if a target of £1,000 could be reached, then the deed would be done.
To a packed house at the Fighting Cocks in Stottesdon, Mick had his moustache shaved off and so far has raised more than £2,500 for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
“People have been so generous,” he said. “I’m amazed that we have been able to raise so much money for such a worthwhile cause.”
