Morda United 2 Ludlow Town 1 DANNY Gower and Dale Hodge were dismissed as Town fell to a dramatic lastminute defeat at Morda.
Gower was dismissed for retaliating to a tackle and Hodge was given his marching orders for bringing down the last man in the area.
The resulting penaltykick, from which the hosts scored the winner, proved decisive.
It handed Morda all three points from the Shropshire County Premier League encounter.
The match was also a dress rehearsal for the Shropshire FA Challenge Cup second-round tie between the teams on December 3 (1.30pm kick off).
After a goalless first half last Saturday, Town were guilty of some loose defending after the restart to concede the opening goal from a decent header.
That prompted Town boss Mike Seabourne to reshuffle Town’s formation, which paid off when centre-halfturned- striker Aaron Hobbs equalised midway through the second period.
Town looked comfortable until a Morda break out saw Hodge bring down an attacker in the penalty area, allowing the visitors to snatch the win from the penalty spot.
Boss Seabourne rued several missed chances.
“The only thing we are not doing is taking our chances.
Our defence is not bad, we’re creating chances throughout the game but we’re not putting them away.
“With the squad we’ve got we’re as strong as any team in the league but we are not free scoring like we were,”
added the disappointed Ludlow manager.
