LUDLOW Town boss Mike Seaborne says a new striker is at the top of his Christmas wish-list.
Town are fifth in the Shropshire County League Premier Division - seven points behind table-topping Ketley Bank United.
Seaborne believes Town must win all of their remaining 10 games to stand any chance of clinching the title.
“Our priority is to get a striker - that’s what we need and I will be trying to find one over Christmas,” he said.
“We’ve got just 10 league games left - five at home and five away - and I think we’ve got to win them all.”
Town now have a break from competitive action before returning to league duty early in the new year.
“Originally, we were supposed to be playing Morda at home this Saturday and then it was changed to Newport away,” said Seaborne.
“We’ve got our Christmas gettogether on Saturday and we explained this to the league.
“After much discussion, the league thought it was OK for us to re-schedule Saturday’s match until the new year.
“We have an extended break of about three to four weeks which is nice.
“It will be a chance for the players to have a break and recover from a few niggly injuries.”
Seaborne is looking forward to this weekend’s social event and plans to arrange a friendly match over the festive period.
“We are hoping to arrange a game over Christmas against Bartestree, who we played in pre-season,” he added.
“We don’t normally have a chance to get together as a team - so I expect we’ll watch the reserves and then head into town.”
