IT was a good weekend for Ludlow Town Reserves who secured two vital local derby wins.
Geoff Simkiss’ side recorded a 3-0 success at rivals Clee Hill in Saturday’s Shropshire County League Division One basement battle.
And Ludlow brushed aside Bucknell 4-1 on Sunday to reach the Bishop’s Castle Cup final.
Howard Shearing’s header put Ludlow 1-0 up against Wayne Whitbread’s Hillmen and David Di Marco nodded in Jess James’ corner.
Sam Watkins struck in the last 10 minutes to seal Ludlow’s win.
Simkiss’ team overpowered Bucknell in the second half to win their Bishop’s Castle Cup semi-final.
Ricky Simkiss put Ludlow ahead, stabbing home Jack Beaumont’s cross before Bucknell drew level.
Martyn Jones fired Ludlow 2-1 in front before Carl Mynett struck twice to wrap up the win.
