LUDLOW Young Farmers Club is organising a bonfire and fireworks night at a nearby farm.
The event will take place at Brook House Farm in Middleton (postcode SY8 2DZ), with the permission of the Rogers family who own the land.
It will begin at 6.45pm on Friday, November 3, with the fireworks to begin at 7pm. It costs £5 to enter and under 12s are free.
Food and drink will also be on sale on the night, which is heating up to be a big event marking Guy Fawkes night, which is actually November 5, early.
The Ludlow branch of Young Farmers is part of the Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers, one of the federations forming the national organisation. The club is dedicated to young people who have a love of agriculture and rural life and is led by young people for young people. You don't need to be involved in farming to be a Young Farmer, just someone who appreciates the countryside and wants to spend time with likeminded people.
The club holds several events each year, with the bonfire night being a popular one.
Shropshire Council is encouraging people to have a "safe and considerate" fireworks night and it is "determined to help your bonfire night celebration go with a bang for all the right reasons".
The council is supporting public firework displays, but is also promoting public awareness about the impact of fireworks on the welfare of people and animals, including the precautions that can be taken to mitigate risks.
