YOUNG farmers in Ludlow will be celebrating a milestone anniversary this year.
Ludlow Young Farmer’s Club (YFC) is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a black-tie event at Ludlow Racecourse on Saturday, October 12.
The evening will be a showcase of the thriving club. “Ludlow Young Farmers Club have ‘lead the field’ in Shropshire” and strive to help local businesses and the local community while having fun," says the Ludlow YFC website.
The club invites every past and present member to join them by booking their tickets, each including photos for committee members, reception drinks and a two-course meal. To reserve your place, email ludlowyfc80@gmail.com, call Rachael Marsh on 07590 925962 or call Laura Morris on 07891 646886.
YFC members, aged between 10 and 26 have a "unique opportunity to develop skills, work with their local community, travel abroad, take part in a varied competitions program and enjoy a dynamic social life!" says the club’s website.
The site also emphasises how Young Farmers isn't just for young farmers! Anybody looking to join can go along to one of the YFC’s business meetings at the Rose & Crown in Ludlow, usually falling on the first Wednesday of the month.
Former YF club chairman and treasurer, Laura Morris, said: “Young Farmers bring rural communities like Ludlow together."
Members not only gain lots of different skills and credentials but can also make new friends, she said.
