LUKE Miles hit 106 and took 3-38 as third-placed Ludlow kept in touch with the pacesetters in the Shropshire Premier Division with a 120-run over Shifnal at the Burway.
Chris Edenborough (38) and Jason Oakes (37) backed up opener Miles’ century as Ludlow made 251-5 before Joe Williams (3-30) and Miles helped dismiss Shifnal for just 131 in reply.
In Division Four, Edgar Whately’s 5-17 proved in vain as Bishops Castle skittled Frankton seconds for 74 but then collapsed to 32 all out in reply as only Thomas Moulder (16) reached double figures.
Peter Lee took 5-42 and also top-scored with 34 with the bat as Church Stretton (166-8) battled out a losing draw with Whitchurch seconds (221-8) in Division Five.
In Division Six, Corvedale had no answer to Bryn Little’s 115 for Beacon seconds (215-5) as they slumped to 78 all out in reply, Ali Usman top-scoring with just 22.
There was also a heavy defeat for Cleobury Mortimer as they lost by six wickets at Hagley seconds (87-4) in Worcestershire League Division Six.
Openers Sam Evans (28) and Jake Wadhams (22) gave Cleobury a decent start but they collapsed from 52-2 to 86 all out and Hagley cruised home despite Evans taking 3-23.
Tenbury Wells (154-5) remain top of Worcestershire Division Seven after Andrew Adams hit 60 and Matthew Harber took 4-34 in a five-wicket win at Barnards Green thirds (150).
Knighton on Teme (125-4) climbed to third in Marches League Division Two as they claimed a six-wicket win at Herefordians (122).
