Orleton's Sunday team got off to a good start in their opening game of the Jewson Herefordshire Division 2 North with a hard fight win against neighbours the Maidenhead.
Kristian Morgan supplied the cross to Shane Jennings to score the opening goal of the game. But the Maidenhead fought back and scored following a free kick. This left the scoreline 1-1 when the teams went in at half-time.
In the second half with time running on it looked like the game would end in a draw. That was until Jennings supplied a cross for Morgan to put Orleton back in front. Following this, Lee Morris's good work in the box enabled Tom Smith to score and make it 3-1. With Alan Hopcutt and Wes Jones keeping it tight at the back Will Caswell had time to push forward and score the fourth and final goal, killing the game for the Maidenhead.
